The Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR), also known as the International Transgender Day of Remembrance, has been observed annually (from its inception) on November 20 as a day to memorialise those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia.
Why did Transgender Day of Remembrance start?
Transgender Day of Remembrance is marked every Nov. 20 and began in 1999 to honour Rita Hester, a trans woman who was killed in Massachusetts.
