Over the past year, our incredible Includability Ambassador, Fiona Lock has been transforming her business to have greater impact with her clients.
The change from The Mindful Craft company to The Creative Wellbeing company includes brilliant new offerings, combining creativity with team bonding and reaching a deeper connection with employees to get the best out of an inclusive workplace team.
Fiona Lock’s Story
Fiona Lock's journey is one that resonates deeply with many: a whirlwind of dreams, changes, personal challenges, and, most importantly, resilience. In 2021, inspired by her profound connection with crafting, Fiona founded The Creative Wellbeing Company, initially known as The Mindful Craft Company.
Having served the publishing industry and crafted kits for a leading UK magazine, Fiona’s passion for creativity was evident. But sometimes, life has other plans. As a new mother she was faced with the unexpected - the loss of her dream job amidst a global pandemic. In the solitude of such challenging times, Fiona turned to her beloved crafting. It became her sanctuary, a space where tranquillity and creativity flourished, helping her combat negative emotions.
Crafting's therapeutic influence on Fiona was undeniable. This revelation made her believe in the vast potential that creativity held. If crafting could be her refuge during turbulent times, it could undoubtedly be a source of solace and connection for many more. Thus, The Creative Wellbeing Company came to life.
The New Offering
A company that once started as an avenue to delve into crafting activities has now transformed into a holistic wellness platform. Their sessions focus on fostering positivity, gratitude, connectivity, and ensuring alignment with organisational values. But beyond just creativity, they cultivate mindfulness, strengthening inter-team connections, and embedding company values within your employees.
In addition to the creative activities with clay, painting, drawing, sewing, etc. Fiona now offers deeper insights as to how your team can find their purpose, develop stronger connections with teammates and talk openly about their mental health and wellbeing.
Partnering with Outliers Wellbeing
As the brand evolved, the ethos of inclusivity became paramount. Collaborating with Includability Ambassador and Fiona’s supportive husband, Matt Lock, they envisioned a more inclusive brand identity. By partnering with our VPs from Outliers Wellbeing, the duo expanded their offerings, providing comprehensive wellbeing solutions for teams.
While creativity remains its core, The Creative Wellbeing Company has broadened its horizons. The brand now delves into critical workplace discussions on mental health, organisational values, and a sense of belonging. Complementing their refreshed approach is a vibrant brand image, reflecting the enhanced and inclusive services they now provide.
The journey to this transformation, though, wasn't devoid of obstacles. Motherhood, as joyous as it is, brought along its own set of challenges. Juggling a young family while steering a rebranding process was taxing for Fiona. Yet, this very process proved therapeutic. It was her bridge to the world outside her "maternity bubble", allowing her to develop strategies, innovate, and envision the company's new direction.
Fiona's creativity was her guiding light during her battle with post-natal depression. Her crafts were not just about creating something beautiful but were her way of coping, healing, and rediscovering herself. Inspired by the sheer joy and wonder children exude, Fiona aspired to infuse a sense of child-like playfulness into adults' lives.
A Re-Energised, Purposeful Business is Booming
The transition to The Creative Wellbeing Company has been an evolution, a testament to Fiona's journey, and a reflection of her vision to harness creativity as a medium for holistic wellbeing. The company today stands not just for crafting but for connection, mindfulness, and an unwavering commitment to fostering a mentally healthy workspace.
The changes have resulted in Fiona being busier than ever with enquiries and sessions as she positively impacts business with therapeutic crafts and talks across the UK.
