Includability is delighted to welcome Golden Lane Housing (GLH)as an Includability Committed Employer for 2022.

Golden Lane Housing has successfully completed an initial 5 Star Verification Process in which they have committed to take the journey toward authentic inclusion by integrating fairness into their company culture and into each stage of their recruitment process by making commitments in the fields of sustainability, mental health, wellbeing, talent management, and diversity and inclusion.

The 5 Star Verification Process was independently conducted by Includability Official Partners; Prosperah, Outliers Wellbeing, Flex Wellbeing, Unleashed, The HR Agency and Mental Health Charter CIC to ensure practices align with established definitions of an ‘Inclusive Workplace’.

What did GLH successfully complete?

Successfully completing the Includability 5 Star Verification Process for Includability Committed Employers (or the 6 Star Verification Process for Includability Committed Recruitment Agencies)immediately gives GLH access to a growing community network of purpose-led organisations. Displaying our Includability Committed Employer or Includability Committed Recruitment Agency badge signifies to audiences and jobseekers that the holder is committed to undertaking steps to better themselves through education and collaboration. In a values-driven market, Includability Committed Employers enjoy a wider range of talent from our certification.

Paul Smith, Founder of Includability, said: “We are delighted to welcome Golden Lane Housing into our Includability Community. It’s great that they were committed to working with our Verification Partners to obtain Includability Committed Employer status. By achieving this, Golden Lane Housing has displayed excellent intentions and transparency. Completing our verification process means they are now part of a growing community of like-minded organisations that will support each other to share best practice, overcome obstacles, empower employees and work collaboratively to create an inclusive culture. I am very excited that we will be taking this journey together.”

Who are Golden Lane Housing?

Golden Lane Housing works with people with a learning disability to provide supported housing around which they can build their lives. We were established as an independent registered charity by fellow Includability Committed Employers, Mencap, in 1998 to help tackle the immense challenges that people with a learning disability face in finding a home.

Their vision is a world where everyone with a learning disability has opportunities to access good quality housing that meets their needs. GLH achieve this by supporting tenants and colleagues to help them achieve their goals and involving tenants in the review and design of housing services.

GLH understands people with a learning disability have different wants and needs when it comes to their home and empower them to choose where, how and with whom they live. They work in partnership with more than 150 support providers to ensure the people in over 1,200 properties have access to the support they need to live independently in their home and community.

GLH has launched its new three-year strategic plan, called, ‘Our Plan 2022 – 2025.’ It focuses on providing safe and well repaired homes and making sure our services and the way we communicate are designed for people with a learning disability or autism.

Thrilled to achieve Includability Committed Employer status; Adele Currie, Director of People and Culture at GLH said; “I am extremely proud to have joined a community of employers dedicated to ensuring inclusivity and positive culture is a priority. Golden Lane Housing has the well-being of our colleagues high on the agenda and to have met the standards required for full accreditation is testament to our people and their passion.”

Who are Includability?

Includability is a platform centred around community. It has been developed to raise expectation, increase employer accountability, and create a new standard for what the recruitment sector should deliver through engagement, collaboration and regularly sharing best practice.

Includability provides a job board to all Includability Committed Employers and Official Partners. We aim to provide inspiration and action for positive change in the workplace. Our vision is to be the number one network platform of choice for employers and job seekers and to positively contribute towards a society that is free from discrimination will be achieved through clear communication, collaboration and decisive action.

What makes us different from other community platforms and job boards is every employer advertising on the platform is independently verified using our 5 Star Verification process, or 6 Star Verification process for recruitment agencies, to ensure companies are committed towards the areas of diversity and inclusion, environment and sustainability, mental health, wellbeing, leadership and governance, and talent management.
