JEDI INCLUSION TOOLKIT
Talent Pooling and Pipelines
Find and develop the talent you already have, fairly. You finish with your critical roles scored, a capability map, the pipeline routes that suit you and an engagement plan that keeps progression open to everyone.
What is in the talent pipeline toolkit?
Talent Pooling and Pipelines is a talent pipeline template and guidance module in the JEDI Inclusion Toolkit. It helps you score your critical roles, map the capabilities they need and build inclusive talent pools and pipelines, with guidance on mentoring and sponsorship, so progression is open to everyone.
Who it's for
- HR, People and Talent leads planning for future roles
- Leaders responsible for succession and development
- B Corp certification leads gathering evidence for JEDI2.h
Why does progression stay closed?
The talent you need next is often already working for you. But when development depends on who a manager happens to notice, the same people get the stretch projects, the introductions and the promotions, and everyone else waits.
Without a clear view of which roles matter most and what they need, succession becomes guesswork. Good people leave to find progression somewhere else, and the organisation keeps hiring for roles it could have grown.

Support
You can email us with questions as you work through any module, and you can book a call with the team to talk through how to get the most from the toolkit. If there's a template, tool or feature you'd like to see added, tell us. We build the toolkit around what the people using it need.
Questions we get asked
What is a talent pipeline?
The route an organisation uses to find, develop and move people into future roles. An inclusive pipeline keeps that route open to everyone, not just the people already in the right conversations.
What is the difference between a talent pool and a talent pipeline?
A talent pool is the group of people you have identified and stay in contact with. A talent pipeline is the structured route that moves them towards future roles over time.
What is the difference between mentoring and sponsorship?
A mentor offers advice and support. A sponsor uses their influence to put someone forward and speak up for them. Sponsorship often makes the bigger difference to progression.
How do you make succession planning more inclusive?
Start from the capabilities each critical role needs, not from who already looks ready, and open the development routes to everyone.
Is this a diversity and inclusion talent toolkit?
Yes. It works as an EDI or diversity and inclusion talent toolkit for any employer, from scoring critical roles to planning how you engage people. We call it JEDI because it adds justice and follows the B Corp standards.
How does this module support B Corp JEDI2?
It supports JEDI2.h. Your critical roles list, capability map, pipeline choices and engagement plan show that development is open and fair.
What support do we get?
You can email us with questions as you work through the module, and book a call with James and Dave to talk through getting the most from it.
Can we suggest new templates or features?
Yes. Tell us what you would like to see added. We build the toolkit around what the people using it need.
Is this module a certification?
No. Includability does not assess, certify, accredit or verify anything. B Lab assesses and certifies B Corps. The module helps you do the work and gather the evidence.
Not sure which modules you need?
A Cultural Roadmap with a JEDI Gap Analysis shows you, so you start where your gaps are.
The Roadmap shows the gaps. The toolkit closes them and produces your evidence.
